Welcome to “A Brooklyn Dad,” a blog where the urban parenting journey meets a passion for education, community, and the unique charms of Greenpoint, Brooklyn. I’m Kristopher Kasper, but you can call me Kris. I’ve spent the last 15 years running summer camps and education programs for kids around the world. In 2023 my wife I and I celebrated the arrival of our son Liam, marking the beginning of my most challenging and rewarding role yet – being a father.

A Little About Me:

  • Profession: As the COO of a youth education company, I’m constantly pursuing innovation in education by blending the latest STEM technologies with Social Emotional Learning (SEL). My approach is holistic, aiming to develop not only the intellectual capabilities of young minds but also their emotional and social skills. This integration ensures that our curriculum is not just academically advanced but also fosters empathy, resilience, and a deeper understanding of oneself and others.
  • Parenting Philosophy: I believe in hands-on, empathetic parenting, infused with the vibrant art culture and community spirit of Brooklyn. I aim to raise a child who is not only smart and capable but also kind, compassionate, and aware of the world around them.
  • Brooklyn Life: Living in Greenpoint Brooklyn is a constant adventure. It’s hands down my favorite neighborhood. It’s a place where every walk is a new adventure and every neighbor has a unique story to share.
